My love for art began as soon as I learned to hold a brush by myself. Growing up in a small town in Sweden, painting became a world of its own, somewhere to disappear into and shape according to my imagination. I have always been drawn to things slightly removed from ordinary life: the mysterious, the otherwordly, and the surreal. By mixing Renaissance methods with contemporary imagery, I bring new life to old techniques, and create a place where beauty can be unsettling, tenderness can coexist with darkness, and reality is never quite as fixed as it first appears. In that meeting between the old and the imagined, I create paintings that could belong to another time, another world, or perhaps somewhere that has never existed at all.
